Stress and the intern
I like how simple this place is. I don't update my diary as often as I once did, but I'm glad I have. It is like my own 'private' corner on the internet.
I opend a myspace account (SORRY!) but because I see myself as a private person, I don't post anything I want my friends to know. By friends, I mean people I actually know, not some random person.
However, with me heading south to Florida again, I'll use it as a way to keep people informed and what not.
Besides trying to get my life in order to move to Orlando and not panic about money and what not, today at work was not the best.
My one last 'task' for my VISTA job is a week long summer camp. I should start by saying that each day is a half day, but it still makes for a long day since the camp starts at 8:30 in the morning and we are stationed about 45 minutes away. Do the math at how early I've been getting up.
Anyway, while I was gone at the camp, our volunteer for one of the classes called and cancled. They were scheduled for the next two days. Not good.
About a month ago, we hired an intern to plan this camp. They have done a very good job. However, when they found out about this person canceling, they pretty much left it to me to plan the next two days, while they wrote thank you cards >.< At that moment, the cards were low priority.
Besides this crazy camp, I have to write all my reports, how-to stuff and organize my files for my replacement. I don't have the time to plan her camp.
I should also mention that I had a 4-H meeting tonight, and no one showed up. That made my day. Not really.
And of course, let's not forget pack my stuff to move south.
In one way, I can't wait to get to Florida, because all of this will be behind me. This is one very long week and time for bed, even though it is only 9 pm.
